The 24th Annual Kids Fishing Day: Is being held at the Andorno Ranch Pond located 34 miles north of Winnemucca, off of State Hwy 95. Fishing starts at 8 a.m. and runs until noon. Kids ages 5 — 13 are eligible to participate and must be accompanied by an adult. Bring your fishing gear and worms and join in a fund filled day of fishing. Whitewater Swim Team Try-Outs: The Winnemucca Whitewater Swim Team Try-Outs will be held from 3:30 — 4:30 p.m. at the Memorial Swimming Pool. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards without stopping, tread water for five minutes in the 10 foot, attend three swim meets every six months and participate in dry-land practices. Free Youth Mental Health First Aid training: If you are interested in increasing your skills to better serve people you care for, similar to traditional First Aid and CPR, Mental Health First Aid is proving help to a person with a mental health problem or someone experiencing a crisis until professional treatment is obtained or until the crisis is resolved.
